Tony Curtis was an immensely popular movie star of the 1950s and 1960s, whose credits include the comedy "Some Like it Hot" with Marilyn Monroe (1959) and the drama "The Defiant Ones" (1958) in which he played a racist convict chained to Sidney Poitier. By 1972 he had starred in more than 60 films. Tony Curtis died in September, 2010.

"The presence of John Lennon and Yoko Ono is of cultural advantage to our country," Curtis wrote.
